Latin (sub)URBAN Art Walk

The Latin (sub)URBAN Art Walk brought together over 20 artists from various Latin American backgrounds, displaying work in multiple mediums while collaborating with local businesses throughout downtown Naperville. Held in partnership with the Downtown Naperville Alliance (DNA), attendees explored art installations, met artists in person, and experienced live performances of Salsa, Merengue, and Vallenato. Venues like AltaVida hosted special features highlighted on a community map, creating a fully immersive cultural experience across the city. Spotlight artist Giovanni Arellano was invited by the DHA and awarded a grant to paint a window mural at the Nichols Public Library, celebrating the rich biodiversity of Latin America through plants, animals, and vibrant color. The event showcased the cultural contributions of artists from all backgrounds, demonstrating the rich diversity within the Latino community and its place within the broader Naperville context.
